Call for Papers: Volume 1, Issue 1
The Journal of Contemporary Christian Practice is currently inviting submissions for its inaugural issue. The journal will welcome contributions from practitioners, academics and students, and church leaders who seek to explore how Christianity engages with the complex realities of modern-day ministry. As an open-access, peer-reviewed, practitioner-friendly journal, the Journal of Contemporary Christian Practice aims to bridge the gap between academic insight and the lived experience of ministry in contemporary contexts.
The theme for the first issue will be: Christian Ministry in a Changing World. Topics for the first issue include, but are not limited to:
-
Communication and media use in ministry
-
Digital transformation and church engagement
-
Cultural change and congregational life
-
Leadership and organisational dynamics
-
Community formation and pastoral practice
-
Commercialisation, stewardship, and resourcing
-
Ministry innovation in contemporary settings
-
The lived experience of Christian practice in a rapidly changing world
The Journal of Contemporary Christian Practice will also welcome submissions that introduce new frameworks, methodologies, or perspectives that may support church leaders and practitioners in their work.
Submissions for the inaugural issue of the journal are invited until March 2nd, 2026 by 17:00 (UK time). All submissions received by the deadline will be considered for inclusion in Volume 1, Issue 1. Early submission is welcomed, and authors will receive confirmation of receipt and updates throughout the review process.
As this new journal launches, the editorial team seeks to create a space where thoughtful reflection, grounded research, and practical wisdom can come together for the benefit of Christian communities. The journal encourages potential authors to consider how their work might speak to the questions and complexities facing ministry in our time. The editorial team looks forward to receiving submissions and to beginning this shared conversation in the inaugural issue.
